And so, what do we think of the gadget ‘Kindle’? Good news, bad news, no news at all? I mostly want to say good news, but every now and again am accused of being a Pollyanna.

there can be little doubt that humanity will one day move from dead trees as delivery mechanism. so, in the long view, the kindle is an early generation indication of things to come. but to me, it’s going to come down to a price that will make it available to the masses, and a library of enough works so that it becomes *the* way to read.
if they were smart, they’d give every school kid one, strike a deal with textbook makers and publishers of the classics. i truly believe that if an entire generation were poised to make the switch, publishers would get in line.

Oh, that’s a good point and an interesting idea. I knew I kept you around for something.
