Afternoon Viewing: Fiction Writers of Wales

Sunday, February 12th, 2012

From the GlamorganUniversity description:

Extracts from a series of nine interviews with fiction writers from Wales have recently been rediscovered, twenty years after they were produced. Writers Dannie Abse, Ron Berry, Emyr Humphreys, Sian James, Glyn Jones, Elaine Morgan, Professor Deidre Beddoe, Leslie Norris, Alun Richards, Dai Smith, Bernice Rubens and Michael Parnell are all featured. The recordings were made between 1990 and 1993 in the studio on the campus of the then Polytechnic of Wales, now the University of Glamorgan. They were made possible by a grant from the Welsh Arts Council and thanks to the support of college staff and the generous participation of the writers and interviewers. Although there had been previous audio recordings of poets from Wales there was no such record of novelists and short story writers.
